52 Fun Things to Do on the Plane is from a card deck series designed to inspire creativity and offer an alternative to the idiot box (see 52 Great Books to Read and 52 Special Traditions for Family and Friends). This particular deck, small enough to tuck into a purse or backpack, is aimed at families on the go, and includes games and activities for kids of all ages. Each card shows an illustration together with the name of an activity; the flip side has instructions. For example, one card suggests starting a round-robin story about a trip: "With another person, start telling a story about taking a trip. After a little while, let the other person continue the story and then a little later, you can continue again."
