Microsurgery: Transplantation, Replantation : An Atlas Text
Description
When to consider microsurgery, which tissue should be selected, when transplants are better than flaps and qualifications for micro-surgery practice are fully addressed. Pre- and postoperative considerations, including the use of arteriograms, monitoring, preoperative evaluations and the indications for free tissue tranfer are presented. Organization of a replantation team is outlined. Meticulously rendered anatomic line drawings depict the dissection of each donor area, and microvascular techniques are painstakingly detailed. The methodology of different free flaps and replants are highlighted by the presentations of case histories which illustrate trans-plants in various areas of the body. Many historical "first of a kind" operations are documented.
