Ethics, Education and Administrative Decisions: A Book of Readings (American University Studies. Series XIV, Education, Vol 8)

This book of readings focuses on the issue of ethics in the admini- strative decision making process of education. Administrators at every level in education as well as graduate students will find topics such as the moral context of decision making by Brian Crittenden, useful in developing a sensitivity to the ethical issues that are an integral part of the process. Thomas Sergiovanni and Victor Worsfold begin to develop a framework within which educational administrators may include ethical considerations in their decision making process. This concept is further developed by William Foster and John Ladd. Examples and case studies of ethical situations are provided by Stephen Bailey, Amitai Etzioni, Howard Kirschenbaum, Susan Sayer and Ken Carlson. The two main divisions of the book are theoretical, dicussing ethics in educational decision making, and practical, discussing examples and case studies.
