Indebtedness of Samuel Taylor Colleridge to August Wilhelm Von Schlegel (Studies in Comparative Literature)

Schlegel has long been a topic of discussion in literary circles. Although there is no disputing the existence of similarities in the works of the two men, whether or not Coleridge developed his thoughts independently is the subject of this monograph. By placing parallel passages from Coleridge and from von Schlegel side-by-side, the author is able to make her analysis. Further, she fully utilizes the testimony of Coleridge himself and of his contemporaries.
