Description
All too often education, or at least formal education, stresses the acquisition of data or the learning of specific educational processes. Formal education frequently fails to account for the persons being educated and consequently treats individuals more as learning machines than as complex human organisms capable of dealing with stimuli in both expected and creative ways.
Education has emphasized development of conscious processes and has, through lack of attention, diminished or down-played significance of the subconscious in learning. Education has a responsibility to develop "total" individuals, individuals that can use their potential to the highest degree possible. Both conscious and subconscious potential must be considered if "totality" development is to be achieved.
The purpose of this book is to provide educators a vehicle for educating the subconscious of students. To do this, exercises have been developed to be used in classroom or small group settings.
