Best Practice fro the Storage of CO2 in Saline Aquifers (Observations and Guidelines from the SACS and CO2STORE Projects)

Funded by the EU, industry and national governments, the SACS, SACS2, and CO2STORE projects have run sequentially from 1998 to 2006, with the aim of developing research into the potential for large-scale storage of CO2 in underground saline aquifer formations. This report consolidates some of the key findings into a manual of observations and recommendations relevant to underground saline aquifer storage, aiming to provide technically robust guidlines fro effective and safe storage on CO2 in a range of geological settings. The document is framed around a seven-stage template for site development, from initial project inception to eventual site closure.
