Tolley's Health and Safety at Work Handbook 1992-93

This book is a guide to health and safety law and practice. The EC has produced several important directives in the health and safety area which are required to be implemented by December 1992. They include health and safety welfare, the use of VDU equipment, personal protective equipment, manual handling of loads and the use of work equipment. This book has been updated to include relevant changes. The book includes an introduction to the general principles with separate chapters on special problems such as asbestos, electricity, gas and emissions into the atmosphere. New procedures to be adopted in accident reporting and risk analysis are covered as well as first aid. Management of health and safety, that is, the requirement of health and safety policy statements and occupational health procedures are included as well as general law relevant to health and safety, for instance occupier's liability and product safety. The appendices give details of current HSE publications and BSE standards.
