Recent Advances in Instrumentation, Data Acquisition and Testing in Soil Dynamics: Proceedings of Sessions Sponsored by the Geotechnical Engineering (Geotechnical special publication)

The 1980s brought rapid expansion in the abilities of electronics for data acquisition and analysis. These changes were especially welcome in three areas of soil dynamics: surface wave investigations, in-situ liquefaction instrumentation and testing, and laboratory wave velocity tests. These sophisticated new techniques should improve the ability of the soil dynamics specialist to predict dynamic behaviour of engineered systems.
