Hands in clay is intended for those studying ceramics for the first time. For some of you this will be in a formal course at a school or college, for others it will be in a less formal craft class or perhaps individually in your home. The author has tried to meet the needs of all newcomers to clay by providing the necessary background for a full appreciation of clay as an expressive medium, as well as giving detailed step by step explanations of the most common methods and techniques of working in clay.
