College Writing, a First Course: Writing And Reasoning

Writing and Reasoning is a rhetoric textbook for a first course in college composition and writing. It connects effective writing with various lines of reasoning related to ten methods of development.

William Murdick has a Ph. D. in rhetoric and is the author of two other writing textbooks, The Portable Business Writer (Houghton Mifflin, 1999), and The Portable Technical Writer (Houghton Mifflin, 2001), and a supplement A Student Guide to College Composition (Jain Publishing Company, 2003). Dr. Murdick has over thirty years experience teaching composition at the university level.
