American Psychiatric Association Practice Guidelines for the Treatment of Psychiatric Disorders: Compendium 2002

Developed by the American Psychiatric Association to assist in clinical decision-making, the "Practice Guidelines" series has helped to benchmark care strategies for 11 common mental disorders. Intended as a professional resource and not a "standard of care", this volume is a compendium of these guidelines, providing summaries of what we know about key mental disorders and the effectiveness of specific treatments. The 11 practice guidelines are: psychiatric evaluation of adults; delirium; Alzheimer's Disease and other dementias of late life; substance use disorder - alcohol, cocaine and opioids; schizophrenia; major depressive disorder; bipolar disorder; panic disorder; eating disorders; borderline personality disorder; and HIV/AIDS.
