Implant Wear: The Future of Total Joint Replacement (Seminar)

This publication outlines what is currently known about the clinical problems of wear in joint replacements, the consequences and the related biomechanical and biomaterial issues. The complex interplay of mechanical and biologic factors can limit the survival of total hip and total knee prostheses, challenging the future viability of these orthopaedic procedures. the book also identifies directions for future research in this area.
