Introduction to Soil Microbiology

This second edition deals with the microbial populations and species in soil, their interrelationships with one another and the ecological factors of importance to microorganisms in soil. The text also considers processes that are of environmental and agricultural importance in terms of plant growth, nutrient cycling, and ecological processes. In addition, attention is given to matters concerned with biodegradation of organic compounds and transformations of the elements in soils.
