The Story of God

This book was written to answer a request posted on a forum: "What do I tell a 10-year-old who asks, ‘Who is God?’ " It is written to be read by older children on their own, but will provide answers to readers of all ages, from 8 to 88. For this is perhaps the most direct and comprehensive statement of the nature of divine life and divine laws ever put into a book.

The Story of God does not approach the question theologically, but rather spiritually. It honors the attempts of all major religions to describe the nature of God: Christian, Jewish, Hindu, Buddhist, Islam, and Chinese. It does not impose dogma or doctrine; instead, it explains the answer to often asked questions: Who is God? What is heaven? How do we know about God? How do we discover God? What is prayer? What is meditation? How do divine laws govern our life? What is the role of belief? What is the role of understanding? What does it mean that God is omnipresent? Omnipotent? Omniscient? What is sin? What is the purpose of Creation?

In addition to the story of God, many key passages of major scriptures have been included, with commentary—including all of the parables of the Christ. The Story of God is an important book that should be read by every parent, every child, and every spiritual aspirant.
