Racial, ethnic and religious discrimination is rife worldwide, but the author found discrimination against women to be yet more prevalent and harmful. This book surveys the status of women in the mid-eighties in the United States, Canada, Africa, Western Europe, the Eastern European bloc including the Soviet Union, Latin America, the Arab-Muslim world and Asia. There are 20 case studies and over 75 illustrative tables and graphics.
