Built to Last a Lifetime, Vol. II

This is the second volume in the "Built to Last a Lifetime" series of fictional adventures that follow a young settler family in the Kentucky Territory in the late 1700s. Books Three and Four, which make up this volume, see the family adding to its circle of friends, stretching their horizons to far rivers and forests, and re-encountering the Shawnee Indians whose warriors once attacked, decimated and drove off many Kentucky settlers, including Luke and his family. True-to-life historical references, authentic use of dialogue as spoken in the colonial era, plus edge-of-the-chair adventure and rib-tickling humor, make this series ideal reading for youngsters from grade four right on through high school. Although there is plenty of adventure, there is a minimum of descriptive violence and no overtly sexual content. All in all, "Built to Last a Lifetime Volume II" is down-home good reading, even for adults.
