Description
This fine, limited edition is a facsimile of an original manuscript notebook used by the great bibliophile Thomas Frognall Dibdin to list rare books and manuscripts he had seen in the major Cambridge libraries during a visit in 1823. The introduction describes the events surrounding Dibdin's life in the 1820's and places the notebook in the perspective of Dibdin's career. There is also a current finding-list of the books, manuscripts, and prints Dibdin examined, compiled by Divid McKitterick.
