Battle of Nashville (Incidents in the American Civil War, 48)

This volume from the "Incidents in the American Civil War" series contains the edited battle reports of four Union and four Confederate officers who participated in the Battle of Nashville in 1864. Featured reports are by George H. Thomas, Major General, USA and John B. Hood, General, CSA. Other reports are by Generals Andrew J. Smith (USA), James B. Steedman (USA), James H. Wilson (USA), Alexander P. Stewart (CSA), William B. Bate (CSA) and Stephen D. Lee (CSA). Also included is Special Field Orders No. 342, which was the plan of battle for Union forces, and a report of casualties. Finely reproduced illustrations include five period maps (including a central map of the battlefield), nine portraits, and ten illustrations of scenes related to the battle.
