The volume contains 36 articles on topics of Spanish, Latin America, and Brazilian literature and culture, which were selected from among the 241 papers presented at the Eighth Louisiana Conference on Hispanic Languages and Literatures (LA CHISPA), sponsored by Tulane University, New Orleans, LA, February 26-28, 1987. Hispanists from Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Guatemala, Mexico, Spain, Uruguay. and almost all of the States of the USA participated.
