Nothing to Lose

A five year old girl appears alone on the doorstep of a widow. She claims to be the daughter of the woman's son who has been missing for 20 years. Mary Sue Gilbert, a real estate agent, (who is also this woman's friend and has her house listed for sale) and her husband, Sam, get involved in helping to find the missing son. The widow's gardener is found in a skiff on the beach by Sam, unconscious. Soon a link to Kentucky is discovered, and the mystery deepens. When a contract for the sale of the house is obtained, Mary Sue finds that the client and the child have disappeared. Mary Sue is frantic to locate them. In her search she learns a family secret that has been hidden for many years. Things happen fast. This mystery novel occurs in real places on the west coast of Florida and central Kentucky.
