Fire Assessment Center Training Kit

This book is written expressley for the fire/rescue worker who anticipates participating in her/his Department's upcoming assessment center. The author has put his more than twenty-five years of experience at the disposal of the reader. During this time frame, the author has created, trained assessors for, implemented and even defended assessment centers in a court of law. Over that same period he has trained assessors from dozens of fire/rescue departments from Miami, FL, St. Louis, MO, Washington, DC and many more. The author's St. Louis based firm's activities have allowed it to provide the reader with all of the knowledge that a participant needs about the assessment center, how it works and how the reader can perform at her/his optimal level, on the day of the Department's assessment center. Finally, the reader also receives examples of three actual assessment center and emergency scene exercises. This provides the reader with: 1. An opportunity to get an early look at some of the types of exercises that their Department's assessment center may have, 2. An opportunity to improve their future performance in the reader's Departmental assessment center in the quiet and comfort of their own surroundings and 3. The opportunity to see how some of the exercises are graded-what the reader did well and how he/she can improve. The inclusion of three common assessment center exercises provides the reader with an opportunity to enhance their performance on their actual assessment center by not only reading about it but also practicing their participation prior to their Departmental assessment center.
