Into the Wilderness

Into the Wilderness invites the reader into an intimate world of personal revelation,a world in which truth appears unanounced--in a box of Girl Scout cookies, during an overseas phone call, in a Navajo rug. Here are forty reflections--some funny.some rueful, others gently wise--to use for personal contemplation or to share in community gatherings. First published in 1990 as a Unitarian Universalist book of meditations (under the name Sara Moores Campbell), Into the Wilderness continues today to be widely quoted. Three selections are used as readings in the Unitarian Universalist hymnal, Singing the Living Tradition, and others have been set to music or anthologized. Several selections are included in Listening to Our Song (Skinner House Books 2002), edited by Margaret Beard.
