Religious Extremism: Intellectual and Doctrinal Deviance in Islam

The book examines the genesis of exaggeration and extremism in Islam and its devastating ramifications. Distortion and interpolation of the prophetic literature has resulted in elevating the status of saints to almost divinity. Furthermore, the laity has become accustomed to listening to exaggerated claims about their saints resulting in devaluation of the essence of Islam along with paralysis of the faculty of intellect.
