Searching for Virginia

An adventure into Alzheimer's where dreams and sleep are not always what they seem. As a LPN, I learned the art of communication, compassion and patience. Little did I know that Alzheimer's would invade our lives. Like my Dad, I became my mother's caregiver and lifeline. During those years of caregiving, I became the second victim of the disease. Trying to keep the roles of daughter verses nurse became a constant struggle for my own survival. At times I questioned by own sanity and prayed for hers.
