Description

"Friends of Dialogue" is the first book of the Dialogics Trilogy; "Dialogue of Friends" is the second; with the last one still in the process of being written. The Project consists in trying to make the case that a philosophy of science is a science of philosophy. This non-fiction non-factual approach is taken in the hope that it might provide the missing link for Re-Evolution and out of the present day state of stagnation, arrogance, and corruption. In this first volume of the Trilogy, which is mostly of a theoretical nature, we provide a sky- and groundwork explanation for an understanding of Civilization by way of examining the cornerstone Judeo-Christian and Greek-Roman Traditions of Western Culture. Our findings are presented by way of a principal guiding postulate—that we are of a dialogical nature. Herein dialogue is an intuitive notion signifying meaningful engaging communication, which we distinguish from that of talking past each other of monologue, or of chatter. This postulate unfolds in turn as a logical series of five terms so as to make sense of the Spirit of Civilization: that is, the ordinary logic of being, identity and contradiction; an extraordinary logic of becoming, process and unfolding; and a fifth term of the logic of ethics of the Meta interstice leap. The conclusion arrived at is that we're presently living in the Light Middle Age, requiring a Renaissance II to get out of the bind that Posmodernity has gotten us into by way of splitting contemporary society into fundamentalism and nihilism, and hardly nothing going in-between. Next follows an analysis of a few selected key topics, namely, the self in discourse, language conjugates, gender studies, that will serve as interphase between this mostly theoretical volume and the following mostly practical one of “Dialogue of Friends”.
