Who Is The Joker In Bid Whist?

The story centers around a circle of friends, some married and some widowed. The couples play bid whist twice a month. As the story plays out it starts to resemble a bid whist card game. People are making calculated, methodical moves, which impact all the players. The story's setting takes place in the 1960's. Between rent parties and card games the players are either playing a game or being played. Some will get and understand the story and others will not.
