Thomas W. Dawson has been an active antique automobile enthusiast since the age of 14. This book features some of the highlights of that hobby. The Stanley Steamer is truly a remarkable automobile. It is unlike any internal combustion engine vehicle manufactured. With the Stanley the power is derived from the flame. The hotter the fire the better the car performs.

Dr. Dawson's 1924 Stanley is a condensing steam car. This means that the steam that is generated and used in the steam engine is turned back to liquid in a condenser for use over and over. A non-condensing steam car only uses the steam once and it is exhausted out the back of the car.
