PRAXIS: Journal of Writing and Building, Issue 11+12: 11 Architects, 12 Conversations

PRAXIS 11+12 is a double issue featuring the work and ideas of 11 emerging architectural practices through a series of conversations and projects. The firms MOS, NArchitects, WORKac, PATTERNS, Aranda/Lasch, Productora, Alejandro Aravena, FAR, Ciro Najle, The Living, and Howeler +Yoon were paired twice to produce a series of conversations that produced a provisional mapping of a shared set of concerns, including he notion of material and or conceptual testing; a questioning of the agency afforded by sustainability; and an interest in the relation of digital processes and design outcome. An additional conversation by Timothy Hyde and Lucia Allais addresses the role of the critic and historian in this context. A final conversation that includes all of the firms, held in conjunction the release of the journal on June 25, 2010 at PS1 MoMA is an addendum to this issue, available as a download from our website praxisjournal.net
