Parent's Guide to College Football Recruiting

The author is the father of a full-scholarship football player who chose among 16 football scholarship offers to play at Stanford University. The book helps a parent understand each of the steps towards helping your son get recruited in football. It includes: (a) the types of football scholarships and how to improve the chances of getting one; (b) details of creating highlight film; (c) rules and eligibility requirements; (d) a month-by-month timeline of recruiting events; (e) typical sizes and speeds required for college football by position; and, (f) an explanation of camps, combines and 7-on-7 football and how to use them. The book also has a chapter about the ugly side of football recruiting and things to avoid. A 20-page Glossary helps you understand the language of recruiting. Ten appendices are included with helpful websites, sample letters and forms, and portions of the actual NCAA rules directly pertaining to football recruiting. The paperback is about 300 pages total, with 200 pages being the book itself, plus about 100 pages of Appendices and Glossary. The book is focused only on college football recruiting (at all levels), not other sports.
