Heart, Soul, Might & Mind: Nurturing Love for God in the Home

This book is for parents who are serious about their love for God and want their children to grow up to love God. Combining the truth of Scripture and insights from modern social science, Duke provides a wholistic approach for nurturing love for God in the home. Beginning with Moses' challenge to "love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your might," four modes of teaching are identified: parental example, verbal instruction, family rituals, and control of conduct. The modes of teaching are then applied to three developmental stages: laying foundations, building competencies, and aiding identity formation.
