Fort Zachary Taylor: A Sleeping Giant Awakens, 2nd Edition

This volume is the second edition of Howard England's original book, Fort Taylor: A Sleeping Giant Awakens. As the first curator and conservator of Fort Taylor from July 1968 to October 1976, he compiled and published the first pictorial record of the fort in 1977. Even now it remains the only historical book written on the fort and the only pictorial record of the archeological exploration of the fort's Civil War treasures. The Second Edition has been re-set and re-bound into a more durable volume that still preserves the essence of the original edition. The publisher's goal is to make this rare volume documenting Howard England's life and legacy at Fort Taylor available to an audience over a generation after it was first published.
