To all those who have suffered the effects of betrayal: the betrayed, and the betrayer. Both are redeemable. Both are important to God. God has a plan for the restoration of both the victim, and the perpetrator of the crime. This book is written with you in mind. Exert - "I just stood there in amazement and wonder … and wept. Hot tears came rolling down my cheeks and would not stop. I must have wept for several days following. Every time I thought about this Church, I wept some more. As I stood there gazing and weeping, it seemed like I was looking into a mirror: every crack, every fissure, every charred stone, the empty shell. I could only imagine what it had once looked like. And I could only imagine what had happened. I thought, 'maybe it was bombed during the 2nd World War and never repaired?' I did not know. But I did know what the cause of my own destruction had been. Betrayal of the Marriage Trust Immorality. Adultery. Unfaithfulness in my marriage covenant. Betrayal of the sacred marriage trust. As these thoughts were mulling over in my mind and the tears continued to flow, I thought, 'but this is not a picture only of me. This is a graphic picture of many in the body of Christ, who for one reason or another, have been firebombed, just like this Church, and are standing there, helpless, naked, humiliated, and ashamed.' It was a great wake up call for me. Looking at this empty, burnt out shell, was a grim reminder to me, that the Road to Recovery, if ever, would not be happening overnight." - exert
