The economic crisis of 2008 and its aftermath altered the lives of millions of people across the globe in a profound way. Although we are on a path to recovery, the rate of growth has been less than satisfactory. The unemployment rate in the United States, which was around 10% in the initial year of the crisis has been steady between six and seven percent in recent years. The fate of those 50 and older, especially those who have been out of work for over six months, does not look promising. Many people have lost their homes.
