The Last Voices: World War II Veterans of the Air War Speak More Than Half A Century Later

A retired airline pilot takes a series of road trips across the United States and Canada to interview some of the last living World War II bomber pilots and flight crew members. From B-17, B-24, B-25 and Avro Lancaster former crew member interviews, and diary excerpts from an ill-fated B-29 crew, many never before heard stories, often tying into famous events, are presented along with photos. The final chapter profiles a current B-17 restoration project at Grimes Field, Urbana, Ohio, bringing together veterans of the war and volunteers of all ages.
