Organizing disorder to avoid chaos

Why the accident at Three Mile Island? Why others catastrophes as Deepwater Horizon? The safety valves close with difficulty because the motive power of flows is not enough subdued. A little-known field of physics could be the origine of these disasters. The remedies offered 25 years ago in France, and in the United States in particular, for technically hazardous situations had garnered wide support. However, the underlying processes remainded poorly understood. Our goal is to explore this shadowy area of science. The fundamental nature of the processes subdue flows, protecting people and their installations from harm. With an entropic vistemboir, or kinetic energy degrader, we propose to focus on dissipating energy by creating controlled disorder at the very heart of the flows.
