Originally published in 1897, this book provides an onomasticon of Anglo-Saxon names and the people who bore those names. The text covers a large proportion of English society during the days of the Anglo-Saxon monarchy. It is divided into two parts: the names in part one are derived mainly from historical works and charters; the names in part two, which is much shorter, are the result of a close investigation of later sources.
