Of medium height and on the usual lines of the lithe frame of the eastern race his muscular frame was developed from the exertions common to the lot of warriors. Still young, his features were composed in a self-assured expression which gave him the appearance of possessing a wisdom, not often revealed in one of his age; but notwithstanding those signs the flash of his eye showed that no matter which way his reason pointed, it was not always the course he took.
