Not illustrated. 1826 Excerpt: ...1823, at which time a payment of £.80,000 was made out of the funds in Court into the receipt of the Exchequer. In pursuance of these directions the Commissioners made their report, dated 3d August 1823, and transmitted therewith a detailed statement, specifying the amount of the principal and interest due, as also of the payments into the Exchequer, and of the allowances directed to be made; according to which statement there was a balance then remaining due from the Accountant's estate, amounting to £.5,476. 2. o. In consequence of this report a warrant was granted under the Royal Sign Manual, dated igth February 1825, for discharging the Representatives of the Accountant, upon payment of the further sum of £. 5,476. (which was duly paid into the receipt of the Exchequer on the i st February 1825), from all further responsibility in respect of the above Account. 586 4 i J Even and Quit.' This Account was declared on 2gth July 1824, with abalance indebted of £.586.4.1 J. but the Accountant having addressed a memorial to the Lords of the Treasury, claiming allowance of £. 160. in respect of the additional salary received by him during the war, and which, he submitted, ought to be continued to the close of his service (which sum had been surcharged in his declared Account, and formed part of the balance of £. 586. 4. i.); and their Lordships being of opinion that it was reasonable to grant him such allowance, a warrant was granted under the Royal Sign Manual, dated gel December 1825, for relieving the Accountant, in consideration of die payment of £.440. 5. 8 i. the remaining part of the said declared balance (which was paid by the Accountant into the Exchequer on the loth July 1825), from all further payment in respect of ...
