To date, this content has been curated from Wikipedia articles and images under Creative Commons licensing, although as Hephaestus Books continues to increase in scope and dimension, more licensed and public domain content is being added. One ranking system, therefore, measures how many total references a journal has in a given time. However, journals with many articles are likely to out-rank journals with few articles. Therefore, one can also look at the impact factor of a journal. The impact factor is the average number of references to each article in a particular journal, and therefore measures the worth of each article to the journal.
