U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs: Vanguard March/April 2006

The United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is a government department that assists with benefits packages for not only veterans but their families as well. The Veterans Administration was established in 1930 and has grown tremendously since then. In June 1958, the first issue of the VA's publication, VAnguard was published. It was a bi-weekly publication for a small number of employees. Soon it became a nationwide magazine with employees from all over the country. Even though the magazine has transformed over the years, the focus remains the same, "People, Purpose, Progress". This is an Edition of the VAnguard magazine.
