The Maze

In a society that has let reality-based television run amok, The Maze is born. What is to be a one time 'survival of the fittest' on a volunteer basis turns into an annual event where four people from each state are 'drafted,' willing or not, to compete. Winning means glory and riches. Losing means death.The Maze is not just a seemingly endless territory where no clear paths are present. It knows what scares you. Your fears, no matter how deep they are buried, are used against you until you begin to question your sanity.Enter team Florida, the youngest team ever chosen to compete. Leading the way is Derek Walker, a twenty-three-year-old amateur boxer who will do anything to get his team out alive. Along with Derek is Mike Halpin, a high school senior and the voice of reason on a team that is so similar in age, yet so different in background. With them are teammates Tommy Catelle, a twenty-one-year-old musician who may just be curious enough to get his entire team killed, and Susan Lucas, who, though just following the lead of her teammates, is carrying enough emotional baggage to sink them all. They must learn to trust one another while navigating their way through emotional and physical nightmares that threaten their very existence. And one by one they face the fears that only The Maze seems to know.
