There is an old proverb that states, Revenge is best served cold. Bobby Delaney had neither the temperament nor the time to test the validity of this adage. Once admired by football fans wherever he went, Bobby Delaney is now confined to a wheelchair and has become a virtual recluse. Only his longtime housekeeper, Mattie, and a handful of friends are close to Delaney that is until Laura shows up at the front door of his Texas ranch. Totally upsetting this strange arrangement is the news that Delaney s best friend since childhood has been brutally gunned down. He responds by vowing to use every means at his disposal to obtain revenge. Despite his enormous wealth, Delaney discovers that his most potent asset is the friendship he has forged with the mysterious son of his housekeeper.
