Description
A group of sincere believers hold that the earth was created on day one of a sequence of six twenty-four-hour days and that the stars, sun, and moon were created on day four. They believe that the land animals and man were created on day six, which also was a twenty-four-hour day. They also hold to a world-wide flood. They teach that all of this happened between just 4,000 and 10,000 years ago. Another group of sincere believers hold that the earth, sun, moon, and stars were all created some time before day one and that the days were periods of time considerably in excess of twenty-four hours. They teach that the land animals and man took thousands or millions of years to come to their current status, albeit without a biological evolutionary mechanism. They hold to a very large but local flood which destroyed the air-breathing creatures in its path. This book demonstrates that neither of these positions comply with the comprehensive teachings of Scripture. It shows that the earth, sun, moon, and stars were created before day one, that special attributes were given to the sun, moon, and stars on day four, and that all of the creatures of the earth including the land animals and man were created on days that did not exceed one-thousand years.
