The Impatient Tide

Viktor Alenius, a young Finn, builds his towboat business on the often turbulent waters of the Columbia River estuary. Construction of a jetty at the river mouth forces him to consider moving to Portland, a decision he delays when his mother dies.

Peter Nordal, of Norwegian descent, relocates and expands his salmon fishery and canneries despite attacks by rogure fishermen and a young criminal who believes Nordal killed his father and brother.
