A vampire mercenary with little interest for anything that doesn't prove profitable for herself, Colette never asks questions of her employers whenever they have an assignment for her. It's no different when one of her most loyal employers sends her to retrieve what turns out to be one of the Crystals of Lindhra: prisons for the souls of those who refused to bend to the will of the White Council, which has appointed itself ruler and protector of the magickally inclined. As she knows nothing of the Crystals and what she helps set into motion doesn't concern her personally, Colette hardly spares the matter a second thought. However, she is not so easily forgotten in the ensuing struggle for power.
