Jen's torrid journey from simple goals to quiet success

Jen, an Australian woman married to an American man and living in Idaho, discovers that her oldest nephew's battle with kidney disease did not end with the recent transplant. Jen remembers a conversation she had with her brother-in-law, a successful Australian entrepreneur, and decides to take his adivce and use it to find a way to relieve some of her sister's worry.

Jen invents a product that, with the help of her husband and brother-in-law, becomes extremely successful in the world wide market. She keeps her plans to herself and caches her earnings until she discovers an uncommon way to lessen the worries of her older sister.

By chance or intention, Jen creates lifelong friendships with a skillful group that includes an Icelandic-American doctor, a Washington state patent attorney, and a California senator. Jen struggles with personal loss, international politics, legal arguments, and economics, before she quietly exploits the power that accompanies silence.
