From the psychologically scar filled battle fields of alcohol fueled dysfunction, to the Transforming Power of facilitator apprenticeship for the Alternatives to Violence Project; his 35-year journey has been a struggle between enslavement and empowerment. He has no collegiate degrees nor official training, but inspired by the paths he has crossed and people encountered, he found the courage to scream.

It's Still Here

You cut me with your words
and bathed in the blood of my wounds with bestial glee,
you sought to taint my soul with hate
and drown me in the sea of your hostility . . .

You laughed aloud at the revelation of dreams
and tried to define me through prejudice tinted lenses,
you encouraged my enslavement to self-imposed shame
and promoted my exile to a state of insignificance . . .

With your diseased mind providing the ink
you left your masterpiece on the canvas of my heart,
so thoroughly was I covered by your curtain of uncertainty
hat for years, I willingly embraced the dark . . .

You were my tour guide through the pearly gates of pain
and you gained strength by tasting my tears,
you sought with every breath to extinguish my flame
