Synopsis of The Thing in Louisiana Five people overhear a stranger talking, describing a thing that is worth a lot. Along with their significant others they begin a trek toward Louisiana from five different places in the USA. Changes in their lives begin occurring and come to a culmination at the small town of Pan Perdu, Louisiana. Humor and pathos are generously mixed in this story. In the end, a slave who was murdered 150 years ago, finally rewards those who helped him and punishes those who were responsible for his death.
