Description
Mr. Moretti has lived in New Jersey since the Great Depression of 1929. Being born during the depression, he was cast into the world in difficult times-so too were Woodrow Wilson and Upton Sinclair.
He lived through the Second World War in a capacity some might consider controversial. War makes strange bedfellows. The Second World War made bedfellows from all seven continents.
The nearest character who conforms to his first four years, from 1940-1944, is Lanny Budd. Lanny is the protagonist of a series of books written by Sinclair during World War II. The book starts off by noting that Franklin Roosevelt calls Lanny to his home to work on a secret project. Lanny is an art dealer. The author is also interested in the arts, such as Hollywood in the 1930s and 1940s, and in the media thereafter.
The author has been interested in politics and law for a number of years. He attended a university in Washington, D.C. He first attended a Bronx college, Fordham University, but was only interested in physics.
The writings included in this book are self-explanatory. They are the writings of someone who was in Rome, Berlin, and Tokyo during the war who wondered what happened and why it happened.
