This book is presented to achieve a purpose - the understanding of fluid mechanics. It guarantees that an engineering student can study it and understand the subject of engineering thermodynamics without any further aid. The primary requirement is a good background in mathematics and physics at the equivalent of the A-Level requirements. It is written in a manner to allow self-instruction. Prior to its presentation as a textbook, the material has been tried out on different classes of engineering students.
